    Garrett Scorpion vs. Tesoro Compadre

I know the Scorpion, at 15 kHz, was designed to serve as a nugget hunter, but some folks, like John Edmunton up in Canada, is using it very effectively as a shallow coin and jewelry hunter and he has the rings to prove it! Almost $10k in gold finds this year. No way to argue with that!

Now the Tesoro Compadre is also a good shallow coin hunter and at 12 kHz, has a reputation for hitting even on small fine gold very well too.

So for shallow coin and jewelry hunting, does anyone feel there's a real difference between the two?

That is an odd but legitimate comparison question. Would like to hear from people who have used both as well...

Though the Scorpion is rather antiquated and the battery setup sucks, I'd have to give it the nod.. though not on price. ..Willy.
