F5 vs Tek omega 8000
Is the omega a step up from the F5? Please reply only if you have used both machines. I have many hrs on the F5 and would like to hear your comparisons.

F5 and Omega are very similar in performance and response characteristics. Big difference in user interface, mechanical design is also somewhat different.

Woof, would you say there is not alot to be gained by getting the omega if I already own the F5.

Depends. If you're someone who likes to collect metal detectors, the Omega is a nice unit to have. If on the other hand you aren't into collecting metal detectors, you've just got 3 or fewer and one of 'em is an F5, I wouldn't see the point in getting an Omega. Would make more sense to get something a lot different from an F5 for example a CZ3D, F75LTD, or Tek G2.

The CZ3D is already in the stable and it gets used regularly. Thanks for your feedback
