Virtually the same machine, the 3D is mauch newer.
"my experience" having had both the 3D is little better at ID, foil, gold rings, and tabs are almost always put in the right slot, the depth was very similar, with a slight edge going to the 3D.

Short of a cz-6 which you can't interchange coils with other cz coils and the cz-7 which i had one,great machine except you had to take the batteries out as it would drain them,you can't go wrong with a cz5,6a,7a,70,3d....
