well I did it, I bought a sov GT, should get it in about a week.Cant wait
to give it a try,the original sov seem to work great on the beach in so ca.
The one I got comes with a sunray/5 and 8 and a s.e.f coil, what one would be the best for the beach the 8"?
Most likely its been said be for but what is a good setting for the beach with the sov GT.I am completely new to this
machine.thanks for all the info guys. Mike

I would start with the 8" and learn how to X targets and retrieve them with minimal effort. Starting out with a 15" WOT may be frustrating to start with. I used the 13" Ultimate and WOT coils at different times and like the 13" Ultimate the most because it was much lighter than the wot.

I never used the pinpoint mode on a Sovereign or excal, except for reverse disc hunting. Just sweep target and turn 90 degrees and put your eyes on that spot where the X intersects. Dig and recheck hole until target is in pile. Sometimes on deeper targets it may disappear all together. If it's not in pile take a couple more scoops out until you get it!
