The Compadre, all day. Just a better machine - AND it is light as a feather. :icon_thumright:

Thanks for posting this Terry. I have owned Whites 4000 D series 3 in the past, and always wondered how the 6000 Di S3 would have compared to my Compadre. The 4000 was my first major detector purchase I made , you are right the Compadre is so easy to swing here, and will always swing Tesoro, just wondered what it would have been like for comparison. You da man.8-)

Next question what would you pay for a used roughly good working condition 6000 Di Series 3 metal detector and case today?

$125-$150 tops if your really into the old stuff. Just not worth it with what you have to pick from today.

Exactly, exactly the dollar amount I was thinking for CAN pricing as well. Great to hear we are thinkg the same.:headbang:

I seen the exact same detector going for 150.00 last year I will offer $90.00 like I did last year but no more then $100.00

Thanks Rob!

I wouldn't trade my Compadre for anything less than enough to buy another one......lol

Unless your a collector, stick with the Compadre. I had the 6000Di S3 and sold it on Ebay last year for close to 200. Its a great machine but the Comadre can do just as good in most situations with less battery cost and less wear and tear on the body.

Thanks for all the valuable insights guys...I guess the Whites that I owned grew on me when I was a kid and fairly quickly with the finds I got out of that old vintage now would be machine...I think that is why it has got me looking online lateley, but still would not trade as I am a die hard Tesoro fan therefore still would not let go of my Compadre,,but may purchase a vintage Whites just because... I know there was one person that was willing to swap there Whites for Tesoro and all due to for they can't swing the machine anymore because of wrist issues. I know the Compadre hits hard for the small items and great light feather weight it offers, I will never consider being without one.

Thanks for the info
