Great video man. The other two videos as well. I had similar results with the Max in my iron tests as you saw. Just can't wrap my head around those scratchy tones. IMO the Pro sounded much better than the Max when I tested it. I'm not sure how anybody can say the Max audio is an improvement over the Pro. The iron audio alone is enough to drive a person insane.

Thanks , that audio is horrible and I cant understand why garrett did that. I agree the at pro audio is better. Do the first texas machines have a iron vol?

Yes but it is much better than some full blast horn sound. It's a iron tone that you can adjust the ferrous and non-ferrous volume separately on a 1-20 scale.

1-9 raises both ferrous and non-ferrous the same...so 9 would be 9-ferrous and 9-non-ferrous.

10-19 makes the ferrous the 2nd digit and non-ferrous the first digit...so lets say 13....10 would be non-ferrous and 3 would be ferrous at a low volume.

20 is level 10 on both similar to 1-9 where it adjusts both.

Yeah, that iron audio on the Max is hard to listen to.

I watched it twice.

I am Deus biased. I have an AT Pro, and it’s a good machine, however, the Deus is in a different league. Your video shows that. I’m ready for one of those HF coils like you use.

I'm not defending the pro in any way but for $700.00 more the DEUS should walk all over it.

Your correct about the pro,the deus is just the measuring stick in my videos about the max... There are other detectors out there in the price range of the at series that beat it performance wise. T2, F75 if you don't need the water proof feature.. you could even buy a deus lite in the max price range.

Absolutely. I'm glad I went with the f75. I'd love to try a Deus too. Nice videos. I wonder if Garrett will correct the iron audio issues with the max.

Your videos have been very enlightening. I was close to pulling the trigger on a Max as an upgrade to my Pro. I think I will re-evaluate that. Like everyone else on this planet, I'm waiting to see what the Equinox does, but if that does indeed turn out to be just hype, I think I'll look to the Deus, Impact, F75+, or Rutus as next year's machine.

Thanks,

Dan

You did the right thing , I see you have the pro and the max isn't different enough imo to justify the cost. It is deeper than the pro , but a lot of detectors are in that price range. I started with the pro myself ... if I was going to upgrade it would only be with a changeable frequency machine, big game changer when you can change freqs....

I have the AT Max but I need to get the Deus. I hunt a 1800’s 1300 acre City Park. With the trash and all I would guess the 9” coil is the one to go with. I do have a F75 LTD but must admit don’t use it that much. Have you ever did a comparison with the F75 and the Deus or do you have a opinion between the two?

if you are running the at max, there is a SIMPLE fix, dig EVERYTHING. if you dont hear a signal, dig it anyway. not rocket science. :dontknow:

Digging everything especially 8” or more gets very tiresome especially in this New Orleans clay mud.

f75 is a capable detector, I have never compared the two but my hunting partner has a t2 which is about the same. They are capable detectors but I don't care for their audio so I never took to them. My partner now swings a deus and likes it way better than the t2 he had.

Any idea when there might be a refresh for the Deus? How long has it been out now? Might consider a Deus if the Equinox doesn't fare well after extensive testing or even a Fisher product. I have my doubts if the First Texas teams new releases will trump the offerings from Minelab or XP detectors (deus) but do like the warranty given on First Texas detectors.

A First Texas employee has stated that they will be releasing a number of groundbreaking new machines over the next few years. 5 new machines over the next 4 years.

We're all getting groomed for the First Texas wait by the Equinox! I think I'm gonna hold off on the nox and wait for the new Fisher flagship model at this time. Unless I see something that really stands out in some new testing vids.

Although the F75+ is not really new, it does seem like good value for a higher end machine. I'm not a big Fisher fan, but it's got me thinking.

How will you know its a gold earing to adjust the deuce why didn't you adjust the AT GB then turn down 12 the at works great in mineralized soil great depth target ID and separation an air test is useless because we never air hunt conditions soil mineralization weather moisture all effect performance. One test garden does not represent a detector in whole I hunt with a partner with the xp both great machines we found about the same amount of silver and for 1000 more itll take him a life time to find a 1000 more in coins. A lot of my tnet friends bought the max lots of good about both machines the bigger vdi backlight and way easier to use. My opinion Have fun enjoy this great .
