Private message gone?

I glimpsed two messages when signed in on my ipad, but now back on my PC they seem to have gone?

Don't think I deleted them but as there is no "trash" folder I cant check anyhow!

any thoughts?

on rare occasions I read messages via my smartphone that haven't appeared on my pc yet, can't explain why...
