Turquoise can have a waxy luster. A waxy texture? I am not so sure.

Please do an internet search with the terms "waxy turquoise" look for the entries from Wikipedia and Minerals.net. Those should be helpful. Please be aware that artificially stabilized turquoise, and dyed white howlite can have the appearance of natural turquoise, but the texture will not be at all similar.

Also, as Rusty indicated, pics would be helpful.

Time for iced coffee.
