problem with this site

The last few days (off & on) this pops up. It ONLY happens on THIS site

I've seen it a few times too. It says what it means, and means what it says. I've always been able to get on after a few tries

RTR, what time based on Eastern time are you getting the error messages. Backups and security scans are done on the server every day, that can be what your seeing based on when your seeing them.

Yep, that is when backups and virus scans are ran.

Yes, I have seen them too, I have messaged the admins already.

I believe that's one of the almost countless options of the vBulletin software that is used here.

vBulletin is the high water mark when it comes to forum software.

Can something trip it because of certain conditions that may occur at certain times?

Can it be turned on and off as an option?

Very likely yes.

The one expert on vBulletin software that I know is no longer sane, so I have no one to ask.

My advise:
Be patient, and be happy that you have such a nice forum to learn from and post on.
(and an admin and mods that give their time to keep it up and running)

Well, I figured mine out, my subscription expired.
I was offline a few days & don't always check my email,
there was a notice, a week ago, from Forum Foundry.

Had to break out the "big notebook of passwords",
just to be able to do the Paypal & STILL had to change passwords.

Tradertom, follow up on your CM, depending on how you paid,
your real name vs online alias, things like that, may could be holding it up.
Mine went right through & updated me back to CM.

As a server admin for a few domains, which had forums at one time, I can agree that the scans are important. Very important.

On one site the forum was continually attacked by outside the US hackers. Eventually this continuing attack resulted in so many man hours to combat, the forum was shut down.

So hats off to you all, good job.
