Just curious to hear anyone's experience of camping on the Ute Reservation in Colorado. They have primitive camping sites and cabins available. However if you do any hiking, the website says a tribal member has to go with you.

Thanks for taking a look and would appreciate anyone sharing their experience with this particular area. It is close to the Mesa Verde Cliff dwelling area.

Fine part of the country and I've been down there a few times. We always set up a base camp at Mancos State Park. Nice quiet out of the way place. I would tell you don't ask for opinions, just jump in there. And I hope you get to check out Mesa Verde. Great place; you'll be amazed.

Thank you very much RGINN for the information. I have been to Durango before and enjoyed that area but never ventured west of there. I hope to go next spring and will definitely check out Mancos State Park. Also looking forward to seeing Mesa Verde as I have heard it is awe inspiring when seen for the first time.

Thanks again and take care
