My wife and I made a few different kinds of wine (more her thing) and we recently started into cheese making. I will tell you once you make cheese the first time you will be hooked. We started with simple soft cheeses and now are getting the gear to make the hard cheeses. Who doesn't like cheese, right? I think the next step will be to work on some home brew and different kinds of bread and then I think that pretty much covers the 4 food groups. Wine, beer, bread & cheese.

I make a big batch of bread every week. It is fun to do too. I have made the white cheese also. You just might want to add churning butter to your list.

I can remember when I was a young kid some of our church members who owned cows used to give us milk. We used to sit around the kitchen table waiting for the rest of the food to get placed each of the three kids taking a turn shaking a quart jar until the butter formed and that is what we would spread on our biscuits. Good times
