Hello All..........
A couple of days ago, a gentleman called me and asked if I could help him find a ring that
he had lost..... in a lake.... off a boat ramp..... with about 3-4 inches of silt on the lake bottom.
I asked him what kind of ring it was and he told me it was a large (about 16 grams) Titianium
wedding band that he was very sentimental about. We exchanged information and agreed on a time and the place to begin the search.
I don't have a water machine so I called my buddie Ron(OR), explained what I wanted to try and asked for his help and the use of his Excaliber water detector. He said it sounded like a fun challenge. So off we went this afternoon for a seventy something mile drive to a lake in the Willamette National Forrest Called WALDO LAKE. We were warned about the mosquitos and told to bring plenty of repellent. (Man, if we only knew that they used the repellent for salad dressing!!!)
We met Matt there and he took us to the boat ramp where he lost the ring..... the area was in a cove and the water was cold at first but warm after a few minutes. Ron turned on the Excal made about 5-6 sweeps and got a really loud tone that sounded like a big coin.......after the silt settled, he scooped up a bunch of bottom soil and there it was...... a 16 gram Titianium ring!! The owner, Matt, was so excited, I thought he was going to fall into the lake with Ron. Hope you enjoy the pictures and HH to all this weekend. Gold Nuggets :hello:

Way to go Richard and Ron! It's great that you could do something to help that guy out. I'm sure he'll never forget it and will probably give the next guy who asks to detect his property permission.
