you're welcome on the offer to guard the site. I'll help in anyway I can ha ha. That is a phoenix on the pin. I just have a hard time believing it's a hatpin because of how heavy the loops are and the type of hook and how heavy the hook is. I hope someone ID's it. If anyone knows it will be a fellow named Mike Singer. I'll see him at the Richmond show in a few weeks. If no one Id's it by then I'll try to remember to ask about it.

Just got a really nice letter from the property owner. He was thrilled with the placque, and said that he scanned it and mailed copies to everyone in his family with the story.

This is my most rewarding treasure to date.
