Hi everyone
I had only an hour to hunt yesterday so I hit a ballfield near home from the 1950's. I've pulled hundreds of clad coins and one buffalo nickle from this area before. I was literally in "left field" when I got a loud signal 6" deep. To my surprise, it wan't a pull tab or bottle cap, but an Easton High School class of 1972 ring. I am a grad of Easton, but 15 years younger than this fella and don't know him. My first piece of gold (10kt)!
I think I located the owner and left him a message. I will update if I can get it back to him.
HH everyone,
Mark G
Nice find! Good luck on getting it back to the owner!

Re: My First GOLD
Congrats on the gold and even more congrats on trying to find the owner! Good PR for the hobby as well, you might even get permission for a new site. HH, Mike
Two words, tree mendous! Been chasing the owner of a classring for six months. Found him and he said," I didn't order a class ring!" He is the only one in that class with the initials inside! Makes me wonder if maybe he was some place he wasn't supposed to be? Oh well! Nice find! Monty
Don't make me loose the hounds! If you dig, Cover up your holes.
Nice ring. That looks like topaz, which is my birthstone. I lost my class ring 20+ years ago... this one looks very similar (except for the high school, of course). I think mine fell in a trash bag by mistake and got carried out with the trash. If someone knows where they took trash from Newhall, California in the early 80's, now you've got something to hunt!
HH,
Bob
