Class Ring Found & Returned

I went to one of my favorite parks last night to do a little detecting. The rain made a little break in the heat. I was still sweating my butt off, but I kept on swinging away. I was not getting many good signals till I got a very loud tone @ 4 inches. When I dug the plug I saw a red stone staring at me. I reached down and pulled out a silver class ring. I saw it was from a local school (class of 1992) so I called and talked to secretary. I was told she had no idea where he had moved to, but gave me his mothers name. I was able to find her and called. She was very surprised to hear that I had found it. She told me that one of his high school girlfriends had throw it away after a argument. His mother then called him and told him about me finding the ring. He was really shocked. I returned it this afternoon and he is sending me a picture of him with the ring.

Thanks everyone. It was fun finding a owner that was thankful of a returned class ring. I have returned a couple that I did not even get a thank you in return.

I've been lurking a bit and enjoying your finds and stories. I'm in Rhode Island and have an Ace 150 and I'm still very much an amateur with not much useful to say as of yet.
