    I love this hobby!

I've only been detecting for about 6 months and I gotta say that this hobby is just too much fun. I haven't found anything really old yet like you folks on the eastern side of the U.S., or you folks overseas with your medieval stuff. Heck, I still searching for my first silver coin! But I have found 3 gold rings, 2 plaited w/diamonds, and 6 silver ones! (#33 and #34 today). Total in clad is over $500 so far.
I just get such a kick out of turning over a plug and seeing a small pocket drop or even a cheap mood ring. Anything else is just ultra groovyness. Just makes my day, ya know

WW, what is that piece of machinery behind you in the first picture? Regardless, I feel the same way about MD'ing, it is just a very fun sport and you never know for sure what is going to come out of that ground.

It's a home made stamping press for stamping out "I dont knows". It was donated to this park by somebody I dont know but I remember reading the plate on it. The park is located in Silma, Colorado.

You are my type of detectorist!
It's great to see such a positive post. I only wish some of the others that read this take notes. Instead of posting, "it was a meager hunt" or "crappy day" etc.... maybe try posting something like this gentleman did!

Your coins are soon to come my friend. Where in CO. are you? My wife and I lived in Estes Park for a few years. I wish we could go back! Family is more important though. See ya

I was out 5 hours Sunday my take was a pouch full of junk for the trash can. I had a blast though, it's the thrill in each dig.

Those are some good numbers, I wish I would have done just part of that while I was in montrose. My first time hunting in colorado & had two old 1800 ranch homes to hunt. Didn't find anything older than 1963 & even though the soil was rocky, everything was deep. Is it like that all over colorado?

I live by Pikes Peak International Raceway, between Colorado Springs and Pueblo. If I hop over my back fence, I'm in Ft Carsons bombing range. Love it here!
Added 2 more rings to the collection today (couple of junkers) but heres some pics of what I've gotten so far:
First pick is all the rings, 2nd is broke down (from L to R) white gold (2), gold plaited (2), and a fat black opal/then the silver stuff/ then the real junky stuff/ then aluminumes/ then the mood rings. 3rd is like jar #15 or 16, (this one puts me over $500 bucks) and 4th is the honerable mention stuff. The last pic is one of the 2 rings I sold. (Didnt get a pic of the other one)
I've gotten maybe 6 wheat pennies, no silver coins (yet) and just a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!
