Silver Bracelet " RETURNED " Updated
Howdy all,
Its been a bit since I posted last. I have had a run with not so nice mass growing in my back and hunting is a little tough. It will be removed soon but I have been running the gauntlet of doctors and tests to determine what it is. Anyway that's of enough of the doom and gloom. Now on to the story. The other day I was hunting with Detectingfreak in an older park where they have been clearing brush. Neither of us were turning any keepers till right at the end. I found a nice inscribed silver bracelet. Most of the time its near impossible to link a piece of jewelry to the owner, but on occasion things pan out. I waited to post until I had done my research. The name is Andrew C. Dupas. And here is part of what I found.
"Andrew Cesaire Dupas was born September 14, 1920 in New Orleans, LA to Caesaire
and Emma Dupas. Andy died peacefully on May 18, 2009 in Everett, WA, surrounded
by family. Andy was born and raised in New Orleans and had five brother and sisters, all
of whom preceded him in death. He joined the Army in 1942, served under Gen, Patton
and fought at The Battle of the Bulge. Andy met Anne Jurancich at a USO Dance at
Fort Lewis and they were married on December 23, 1943. He was honorably
discharged in December 1945 and entered into a career with the Tacoma Postal
Service where he retired in 1979 after 33 years of service as a comptroller and
assistant to the Post Master. Andy lived in Tacoma for 65 years.
Andy was a member of St. Patrick Parish for 64 years where he served as usher and
Head Usher for many of those years. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus,
St. Vincent DePaul and served on the Parish Council. He was very involved in The
Capital Fund Drive at Church, counted collection money after Sunday Masses and
worked in the church office. Andy was willing to do anything that was asked of him. He
was an avid bowler, loved to golf, travel and take cruises. But most of all he loved
spending time with his family and friends. He loved to garden and had a wonderful
vegetable garden that he shared generously. He and Anne made the best homemade
raspberry jam. He was devoted to his wife Anne, whom he adored, his family, his
grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He loved family gatherings whether at home,
restaurants, on vacation or outdoors. "
I contacted the church and was excited to find his wife still living. The church is going to put me in contact with them so the item can be returned. So I will keep this thread going with the final update. I was willing to leave it with the church for the wife to pick up but they recommended we meet in person. So hopefully I can get a pic to post. Thanks for looking and luck in the hunt.

JuJu
Here is the update everyone. My wife and I had not heard back from the widow of the bracelets owner. So we headed to the church to talk to a lady who knows her. We decided to leave the bracelet with her and let her deliver it. So this counts as returned in my book. I trust it was left in good hands. I took a few pics of the church and the moment I handed it over. It feels real good to do something like this. Thanks for looking and luck in the hunt.
Thats gonna itch when it dries.

I been lurkin. I don't get around to well at the moment. The mass in my back is the size of a sweet potato and makes bending tough.
I still get out for an hour or so here and there but not like I would like. Its good to be missed though.

Re: Silver Bracelet soon to be returned
That is a great research project. Looks like it will bear positive results. I'm sure you'll bring a tear to his wife's eye when you return the bracelet. And I am really certain it will get you some tremendous Karma. You can apply that to you current health issues. Heck...it can't hurt.
You getting the bracelet back to his wife warrants an Honorable Mention. Keep us posted and you've got my vote when it happens.
Stay well.

Re: Silver Bracelet soon to be returned
Thanks everyone. From what I understand the wifes health is not in the best. So I might not be able to meet her in person. I have arranged for a church member to take the bracelet to her if I can not. Either way she will have it back. I will update as to how it pans out.
