Hitting the "worked out beach" again just because I think I'm starting to enjoy the empty feeling I get with finding nothing...OK even worked out I'm still finding decent amounts of coins and a ring here and there. Got a great sound almost an overload and in the first scoop I saw my first class ring ever, but it was not an ordinary class ring it was a High school wrestling championship ring. My wife did a little research and ended up talking with the coach who was aware of the loss and felt bad because this kid is what he called a diamond in the rough. An inner city kid that had found something that he is good at and was actually using to his advantage to better himself. The coach put us in touch with him and we arranged for a meeting to return the ring. as you can see he was very happy to get it back and even gave us two championship T-shirts from his school.
It is a great feeling to return something that someone thought they would never see again and is just another bonus in this amazing hobby.

It was probably alot of money for him to buy the ring, in addition to the sentimental value. Glad you found the ring and then its owner!

Congratulations, the return was special, however the real treasure is the example you set for this young man, you encourage the professionalism of the majority of our hobbyists. We must keep our practices on the highest levels, these are the type of actions that will allow us to hunt in city and county parks, thanks. :icon_thumright:
