I was walking and noticed what looked like a wallet in a crosswalk. I quickly picked it up and looked for any ID, there was a licence. I was happy because that meant that returning it would be very easy. I walked home, and found out that the wallet belonged to a senior in high school. It had some cash in 20 dollar bills, a licence, a lifeguard licence, giftcards, and a credit card. I tried to call him, but no one answered, so I left a message. The next day (today) I went to his high school, and told the office what happened, they were very impressed, and wrote my contact info on piece of paper and explained the story for him. I then got notified from the school that he got his wallet back, and was very grateful.

If everyone was like you we wouldn't need locks or passwords. Maybe one day this kind of world will exist.

Thanks for Looking, Coinman123

Sadly it was found in a downpour. So some of the receipts, business cards, and credit union reports got wet, but at least he got them back. Everything else was in great shape though.

Kudos to you coinman , hopefully your good act will be returned one day . I have found 3 wallets over the years and with ID I have returned all to very thankful owners , that alone made the effort worthwhile ..cheers Mick

KUDOS..Coinman..quite a nice deed..indeed. I have found wallets, and returned them, two to be exact, and then on the other hand, I lost mine one summer day whilst wading in the Mohican River (forgot I had it in my shorts)..and was SICK!!...The rest of my vacation was ruined. Along with a small amount of cash were my i.d's, bank cards, doctor appointment cards...etc...When I arrived home, there was a message from a woman who had been canoeing and found it floating down the river! She returned it, and refused to take ANY cash out of it, even for postage! So after receiving it, I purchased an Applebees gift card and sent it to her, and she actually sent ME a thank you card!..lol..It's good to know there are people like this, as yourself Coinman, that are still out there...Karma..ddf

Thank you, I hope to be able to return many more items to their rightful owners. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to return another item.

:hello2: That young man must've felt totally relieved after feeling he'd never see his wallet again! :hello2: Great idea to have the school involved in return. I've returned wallets and cell phones in the past, it seems cell phones are very easy to lose. Many years ago when I was juggling full-time low-paying job while raising young kids, I forgot my wallet in a laundromat, went back quickly but it was gone. Soon got a phone call by the woman who'd found it who offered to return it to me if she could have half the $60 in it! To me, an odd and offensive request, but she could've kept it all and never called -- I guess she had half of a good conscience, lol. I accepted her deal, guess she was struggling at that time herself. Andi

Coinman,

talking of wet wallets, my divebuddy and I found a wallet on the seabed and returned it to a student with a note that we were going to keep the five pounds sterling in it for a couple of pints as a reward for finding his wallet but as a student he probably needed the money more than us.

Sadly even though we sent a return address he didn't reply with any humour, or even a thank you.....sigh.....

Great return - I hear ya SADS, I never "expect" anything for returns, though I will except rewards as it takes time & money for searches. When you don't even receive a thank you..........it's kind of sad.
