I've never seen a Merc come out of the ground looking that good What type of soil did it come out of and how do you clean your coins?

virgin NY forest soil with major pine trees. 2 inches down, cleaned with gentle 10 second finger rub of wet baking soda to remove dirt. the clad came out like all clad----yucky stained. the merc still has mint luster and is likely EF-AU range. should sell for about $4- $5 on feebay

just want to clarify, I am the short old guy with 2 legs and the dark shirt. what an amazing feeling to meet Harvey,a great dog and his great guardian Kevin and re-unite them with a lost item from 10 years past. Kevin offered and I humbly accepted a very nice finders gratuity. still get a fuzzy feeling thinking about this encounter. a super salute to FMERG for taking the time to shoot the photo.

Not trying to give you a hard time but I am genuinely curious: What was so special about the tag? Why did the owner want it back?
