Took the Shark for a swim this morning at sunrise. Breaking in the new 10.5" coil on this machine.
She took a bite and produced an interesting find ... Class ring from Marian High School in NE, 2015.
Ring is a Jostens, stamped SEW., weighing in at 4.8 grams.

According to Jostens, SEW is their Silver Elite series, which is primarily composed of Silver (76%)
with Palladium, Gold and then coated with rhodium plating.

The ring as seen, wasn't really identifiable with the Mark of "M" as the school and only a partial
name was engraved (First and Middle). I called Jostens warranty department and informed them
of the find, gave them details and sent a photo. A few hours later, they had located the owner
and put her in touch with me.

Needless to say, she's a happy camper to be getting it back.

An interesting side to this story, was a young lady approached me this morning and asked had
I found a class ring, her sister lost it yesterday. At the time, I had not. I inquired about where
it as lost, and according to her it was right where I was at. It was actually located another 100
yards down the beach. She hadn't left any contact details, so it would have been impossible to
return it without the assistance of Jostens.

Hunt on brethren!

Never thought to get in touch with the ring manufacturer. ....I've got a few that may get returned now....great idea. Well the one from 1951 may still be tough to return.

If it was a Jostens then yes they should have records. If it was one of the companies Jostens bought along the way, then usually they say no. They reply promptly to email and give you a lot of information on the ring itself. Great service they provide.
