Indian, Merc, wheats and a class ring --New Picture added --ring returned

I'm exhausted after a full day at two different houses, but it was worth it. I spent the morning and afternoon at a house in town, and was able to pull several wheats, some clad, a 43 Merc and a 1905 Indian head penny. The Merc and the Indian will go to the nice gentleman who gave me permission to search; both my kids have each of those coins already.
Later in the afternoon, I began searching a house in the country where I was asked to find a class ring and a bracelet. After an arduous 3.5 hours, I found the ring about 4 inches down in the middle of the back yard. I pulled some clad and a couple wheats, and the kids brought home a baby bird. I tried to explain that it would probably die, but they'll have to see for themselves I guess. The ring was lost about 45 years ago, apparently; it belonged to a woman, now deceased, from Freedom High School in Western Pennsylvania, class of 1962. I can't wait to present it to the woman who commissioned the search, hopefully tomorrow morning. I'll get back as soon as possible to look for the bracelet.

Nice finds. I'm glad you found the ring. Sometimes it's not where they think they lost it and the search ends in futility.

Halfdime, here's a link that might help with the baby bird.

    http://www.ornithology.com/rehab.html

My youngest son brought home a baby flying squirrel when he was a teenager. Surprisingly, it survived. And it sure would startle me when that dang thing would launch itself off a curtain rod and land on my shoulder.

Trash- thanks for the information, it was helpful. Now I know that having a baby bird is illegal!
