COUPLE REUNITED WITH LOST WEDDING BAND
Well Folks, Ridley and I were able to make one couple very happy tonight.
We received a reply on our Craigslist "wanted" ad from Gary and Kimberly (pictured).
They had asked us if we would want to try to find Gary's lost wedding band. Of course, we said "yes". We arrived at about 7:00pm tonight and Gary showed us where he thought he may have lost it while cutting and moving vines off of some trees. Gary said the ring is 25 years old, white gold with small diamond chips, and he lost it two years ago.
Off we went, me with my Mighty Tesoro, and Ridley with his Deadly DFX. We started hitting the yard and driveway. Pull tabs, bottle caps, and pennies everywhere! After about an hour of sweating, being eaten by mosquito's, and running out of light, I was starting to lose hope in finding it. Gary's wife Kimberly came outside, we all started talking about metal detecting, and she told us that we may want to try over by another tree up front. As soon as she told us about the other area to search, my mind started thinking about our fellow TN team Dave & Bobbie. I remember Bobbie always leading Dave to the spots that find the goodies. (Sorry Dave ) The wives are ALWAYS right!
Anyways, I took Kimberly's advice and headed over by that tree. It wasn't two minutes later, and I got a solid signal right up by the tree trunk. I dug down about 3", and saw a twinkling in the hole. I carefully removed more dirt, and there it was!!! I got a smile on my face from ear to ear. Not only did I know I was going to make these folks day, but I was just as happy that I FINALLY beat Ridley to a ring.
By the way, Ridley found a gold earring in the front yard too.
Gary and Kimberly could not believe their eyes when we went to the door to return the ring to them. Needless to say they were very happy with the team of Ridley & Miner.
Sorry for the long-winded post, but I'm still a bit excited.
Have a great week,
MM

Thanks Kirk. I think between always having a low-stress job, and letting my wife handle paying all the bills, it has kept me young. Fishing and metal detecting is enough stress for me.
Hope you get some coppa this w/end.

That was a BLAST!
I'm still pumped and Doug was the one who found the ring! The husband and wife were in a state of "happy shock"!
I found about 35 nickels too!
It's all good!

What Ridley, all those nickels and no gold? Way to go, you two are really on the ball. Keep swinging!

JDN,
My Tesoro is a very basic model. Two knobs (Discrim and Sens.) and a toggle (all metal).
I pretty much have to dig everything when trying to find gold. I'll move up to a better model eventually. Saving my clad now.
-Thanks-

Thanks Mel. We'll go with "Miner & Ridley" for now. It's rare when I can beat Ridley to the good finds. I'm sure it will go back to Ridley & Miner by our next hunt.

Thanks Bdoo. I don't know who was more excited, me or Ridley? I think the owners were though. This find could have been anyones game. I just beat Ridley over to the area that the wife told us to search.
Have a good one. Hope you're feeling better.
