2 days ago I received an email from a website that I am registered with (not TNet) that reported someone had lost their wedding ring. After receiving the email I made contact with that person to see if I could offer up some assistance. It was lost at a public facility last Saturday that has a sand volleyball court and it was while playing volleyball that she lost it. She and other people attempted to look for it as soon as she felt it fly off of her finger, without success. The place where she lost it is currently only open on weekends so people were there on Sunday as well but nobody there since the weekend.
Since she is not from this area she drove down last night and got a hotel room in order to meet me there early this morning (this was her choosing). Once we were at the volleyball court she showed me the general area where she was when she felt it come off and the direction she thought it went. She also gave me a description of the ring. Since she was certain it was on one side of the net I decided to start at the net and grid back and forth making my way away from the net. My first target that I dug was trash. My second target rang up in the mid 80s and was a crusty quarter, which I knew wasn't going to be the ring due to the vdi. My third target was on the far side of the court and close to a chain link fence. It rang up as a 47 at about 2" so I was figuring that it was going to be a gold ring or a pull tab. I had my Stealth 720i scoop and once most of the sand had filtered through I saw a ring at the bottom. I went toward her and asked for a more detailed description which matched the one that I had found. So in about 3 minutes of searching it was located. Needless to say she was very excited.
This is my first recovery for someone, as most of my hunting is for Civil War relics. She offered to buy me breakfast or give me some sort of payment, to which I declined. Now I know how many of you, who have made returns, feel. I did not want to post a picture of her on here without her permission but I do have a closeup of the ring back on her finger so I am including that.
