Update: 100 yr old WW1 Silver DOG TAG returned to family

Update to this post: Beautiful day and maybe my best find yet.
Made the return to Samuel’s grandchildren yesterday. We all met at the home where I found the dog tag. That ugly goat holding the metal detector is me beside Samuel’s grandchildren and the homeowners are behind us. The grand children had these photos of the family next to the same house, sam and his brother in uniform and sam and his wife. It was amazing experience and everyone was very excited. We all sat around talking for 3 hours or so. They are a really nice family and I can’t imagine doing something that cool with my detector again....not that I won’t try.

Great job! In my opinion, something like this is worth more than a pocket full of treasure.

Dumb question. Is there a way to vote for Honorable Mention or does an admin need to review before giving it official status?

Sorry for high-jacking your thread MC.

It’s all good. I think the top thread in the honorable mention page is for referring yourself or others but someone must have seen it before that happened cause they moved it to honorable mention already. Im guessing it’ll take time for it to show on my profile. Not really sure on that.

Thanks thegreatnorth. I was way more excited when returning it then when I dug it up. Don’t get me wrong it’s a cool coin and that’s why I ordered a regular 2franc coin to fill in on my display.
