In early January I found a 1978 class ring on campus. I had found the yearbook on line and determined that there were 3 men with the same first and last initials inthat graduating class. The yearbook did not include middle initials. I tried to find them to see if one of them had lost the ring, but no luck. On Friday I called the high school and they put the ring info on their Facebook page. Yesterday I got a call from a man who correctly identified the ring so we arranged to meet today so I could return the ring. He met me on campus and got his ring back. He attended the college and in the fall of 1978 he lost it while coaching a pee wee football team. It had been in the ground for a little over 41 years. He tried to pay me but I refused.
Needless to say he was very happy to get it back and it still fits.
Ring returns got weird this month. I found 2 class rings from the same school on the same field (not their school) in the same month and returned them one day apart. Definitely not the norm for class rings and returns for me. That makes 15 class ring returns and there are still 2 more in the works. I’m on a roll. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
