I can just imagine someone wading through the masses of sun worshippers on my local beach....excuse me, uh excuse me...

Bet that would be fun in a woods with a lot of undergrowth. It tires me out just thinking that I'd have to lift that thing off an on for every target. And now I have to step in backwards and forwards while I push the pin point button as I twist from left to right. I am getting used to swinging 3.5 lbs let alone that huge assembly.

That's why you go early in morn or evening.
Never detect while there is people.

Many times when I hunt it is crowded... I hunt the tides..

I have too... mega times...
but I wait till the crowd dies down these days...
The interruptions are less and areas that I want to detect are not occupied...
Plus... I try to be considerate of others...
I never dig near people just out of courtesy to them... especially if windy.

I see people... I go the other way.
I avoid em like the plague.
Also when I see another detectorist... which is rare... but I do see em from time to time...
The guy at one park in his waders... he is my nemesis.

HE tries to beat me to certain spots by getting there earlier than me... which is hard to do... but he did do it last time I went to that spot.

I worked a spot called Shepards for a long long time years ago...
It was great for a long time... till one morning... nothing...
I started to notice "holes"...
I worked the morns... another guy had started working the eves...
He was nailing everything just because he went at eve...
This beach was so packed at day... with drunks partying and boats it was crazy...
You could not work it days.
Drunk spots... are the best spots

I could not tell you if that was him or not...
guy keeps his face hidden and walks away from me...
which is good..
Not like I approach him... nor would I...
but he sees me...
and starts slowly working other way... then disappears.

Which is a good thing.
I like it that way...
AND.. he does not go in "my area" as far as I can tell.
And...
I do not go in his.
