    US wheat penny 1944 received in change

    I went shopping at the local Safeway store which dispenses change from a machine.
    I paid for my groceries and received a penny back.
    It looked "funny" and I saw that it was a 1944 wheat cent.
    The first wheat cent I have encountered in two years.
