    $3.69, a Silver Ring and a Knob

I got off my ass today and busted out of house with barely a coat on my back. Luckily there was a warmer hat in my car! I went out to the local sledding hill now that all of the snow melted yesterday. Everything should be laying right on top!

Well I ended up only finding a '67 quarter and a '65 dime and some pennies on top. Everything else I had to plunge the Lesche into the ground and pop them up, but they were all just under the surface. I had the sensitivity set to manual 10 and was digging anything that was beeping 3 times and showing at the top of the depth meter.

I started at the bottom of the hill, gridding back and fourth finding lots of quarters. I ventured up the hill to the top where there are some benches. The entire ground around the benches was littered with crown caps, but the default coins program on the E-trac hates them so I didn't hear a think going over 'em. I usually stay away from concrete because it usually has rebar in it, but after circling the outer perimeter of the benches once I tightened inward and circled the bench once more. Bingo! Got a great 11/12-48 signal and I knew right away it was silver! After digging so many quarters i just knew it was a silver ring.

I'm glad I got out there today and ended up having a great time! It was 32F and windy out there but I felt warmer every time I found something.

Ahaaaa!!! I knew you'd be out somewhere today. Those numbers are all Greek to me, but it looks like you're getting the hang of that new machine.

Sound like there's probably a ton of clad there waiting for the thaw. Nice!

Thanks guys! I really needed a hunt today and even without the ring I was feeling good. I had about $2 in clad at that point.

Actually I've been over that area pretty good this past summer and I probably pulled less clad than I did today. Most of the entire hill and surrounding bottom area is quiet except for when those quarters, dimes and pennies hit. I was pretty much leaving the pennies unless they sounded a little larger

Well now that most of the snow is melted I may fire up my Ace and hit the sledding hills around me. Who knows, maybe I can find another gold ring...

After I got the silver ring, I thought for sure every low surface tone was going to be gold! They are out there though!
