Hi all!
Finally went to a place I thought could produce w/ my new coil :-X It was where I found my first silver 2 months a go (a Rosie). I only spent 35 minutes there, but 20 minutes into the hunt between 2 other signals I got a signal that was close to a dime. Dug this at 6-7 inches:

1906 Barber!!! :headbang: (I've done Rosie, mercury, barber, now onto seated!)
The separation with my new coil (and depth) is a far improvement over my old coil. This was in a park where I had researched and found in 1939 aerials there used to be a ball diamond. I knew there were a lot of signals, but there are even more than I heard before with my concentric coil. I am definitely going back! I am sure I'll find more.

Limegoldconvertible68,
I would say, if you don't have it, get the 11"DD. There were a lot of signals in that field that my 10" either lumped together or just missed. I've only had the DD a couple days and can say it is night and day between the two coils.

I have to say you just convinced me to start counting my clad. Hopefully it won't take me to long to buy the new coil.

Hey Todd, ever hunted in Aerie Crown Woods? Try the old sledding hill in the south central part of the preserve. At the north side near the trail there's the remains of a farm, the original tree line is still there and indicates the drive into the farm, along with the general layout of the farm there. NE of the farmsite is a creek bed that saw some activity back in the day in the way of picnics and parties also but that's a heavily weeded and grown area.

Great first Barber Jon! May many more come your way in the near future!! Keep researching those old spots and dig those iffy signals too :)
