$1 in Silver found, and yep...its big!!!

I can still hardly believe what I dug tonight. The sun had already set when I showed up to a last minute invitation to hunt with Brett. We went back to a private property that I got permission to hunt a couple of weeks ago. Brett scored a couple of quick Rosies back then and I got the Tourquise /silver ring since, but other than that its only been a wheatie here and there. It was the usual deepish clad tonight and Brett and I were comparing each others signals until I came across this one. I thought of yelling over to him that I have a shallow silver dollar here, as I have many many times before when going over a pop can. But for some reason I didn't this time. This time the sound was too clean, too small for a can and the numbers were rock solid. He was busy digging a plug so I just went for it.
I am sooo glad I did. Found at only 4" deep!

Guys and gals.. Let me present my first silver dollar, a 1921-S Morgan.

No way man, I was totally excited for my Dad. It felt like I had found it too just because I was there to share the moment.

After he covered up that hole and we went back to swinging, I started grid searching like a crackhound! I don't think I ever swung that coil so fast... I didn't care about any stinking silver dimes... just BIG SILVER. I figured if I could grid the entire field in the next 30 minutes, MAYBE... just maybe I could find a half dollar before my Dad did

If I went back today though, I would continue grid searching where I left off at a normal pace... with 1-43 to 1-46 notched IN!

Heck yeah, makes sense to me. Lets see,,,,, hmmmm... there's 20 war nickels in a silver dollar,, so I'm up to 62 now. I don't think that Brett will agree though...
