 Don't Drag Your Feet!
4 More Silver and a Sterling Ring (Back to Back Hunts)
Well I was sitting around this morning and noticed it was not raining like the weather report said. Dang college edumacated meteorologists. So I said enough sitting around, let's get back to the gravy train and pull some silver and wheats like it's 1982!
The wheaties were not coming up as fast as before, but the silver was popping out like Orville Redenbacher! Got a silver ring right off the bat just like before, and then two dimes and finally another George! Later I came back when my Dad finally got a chance to get out for 90 minutes and pulled a bunch more wheats and another dime. Ended up with 14 wheaties, mostly 40's. 3 of my wheaties today came from a different place. So between my Dad and I, we pulled 45 wheaties, 1 buffalo nick, 8 silver coins, and 2 sterling rings from one small area. There's definitely more ground to cover too!!!
This brings me up to 60 silver for the year... woohoo! 75 doesn't seem so far away now.
I also got another piece of a pocket watch that got wacked by a lawn mower. Too bad to because it's got a nice fishing scene on the bezel face.
I wish they could all be this good, but unfortunately we have to work hard to get silver these days. This just happened to be a virgin site. I seriously doubt anyone has hunted it before. There is only a small section of turf that's not filled, otherwise the rest of the place would be killer.
Enjoy the pics!

Great post and excellent hunt!
I feel bad too, but I don't get to get out much, so when I can and he's on block lockdown... what am I supposed to do?

Early bird gets the worm is right! Thing is, I researched this place 4 months ago and never went because there was too much baseball going on, or I just didn't want to search so close to a busy street.
But man oh man, what a honey hole this turned out to be. Glad I made it over for a bit today!
I just can't wait till your stuck at work this week... I think I'll give myself a raise and a week off with pay.
Then go set up a tent there...

Anyway..what an nice haul of silver Brett!!!

Brett, outstanding haul
From you Dad's post, you're going to have to stop
"cherry-picking" all that silver and spend more time
digging the copper
Great hunt!

Hey Bill! Thanks for the tip! That makes a lot more sense. I looked up the other piece I have (from my last post) that has "Bronson Mercury 2550" on it and it's exactly what you said.

Which begs the question, "what's that doin' there?" I'm sure more pieces of it will turn up.

Great hunt!
Thanks Mark!
For the record, I dug up 31 of the 46 coppers that have come out of there... but by those numbers my dad should have 3.8 silvers already. I guess I just ran into some luck. I was definitely not passing up any deep wheaties, because some of those tones turned out to be silver.

Brett, you are rockin' out!! What a great array of finds you've had lately. You gotta love virgin sites. I'm still looking for one (yeah, I know, good luck with that).
I am amazed! Here's to you finding more stuff in the next few weeks
