MD'ED for 5 hours today at 3 sites. Came away with these finds, 1.39 in clad and the usual ( pulltabs, scrap al., pot metal, copper parts, brass fittings ) I found 2 more of these copper reeds, does anyone know what type of insturment they go to? The valve looks to be an old house gas fixture. The german coin is a 1939, wheatie a 47d.

Yep the valve looks likes it from a gas light. The reeds are either from an accordian or a pump organ or may have been used in both. I can't remember right off.

Always good digs Rich!
Maybe that coin came from the POW camp out that way?

Hey, have you ever hit Pigeon Woods or German Woods?

Nice Job!
My thought was organ reed, but I don't know. Perhaps if it was a German POW camp it was an accordion. I can't read from the photo but I assume the spoon is silverplate?

If the reeds are different sizes they all probably came from the same instrument.
