"MAIL" paddle lock

Hey guys thanks for making the trip out here to hunt on Monday, Lowbatts,Litefire56,Clad the Impaler,Watercolor. Only a few goodies were found (nice one by Watercolor), Wheaties and a token I found as the lightning closed in. Token was for 25cents at Carl Savage Cigar Store in St. Louis. As the rain set in Lowbatts invited us to move ahead of the storm and go to a secret park.
Great job Tim on leading the 5 car convoy on a 45 min. drive. My take on the short hunt there was 3 clad dimes, clad quarter, and a mem. Great looking site Tim!! Came back to hunt again at the first site and found the Mail lock, key and the half disk. Had fun Thanks, HH DFW

Re: "MAIL" paddle lock

Thanks for having us out Rich! Got two '45 wheats and a small padlock key out there myself. Wrong key though. I'm glad you got your turn at that site for sure!

That token rocks!

Re: "MAIL" paddle lock

Thanks for the invite Rich! Had a blast... Could that be a spur maybe , or too thin?

Really cool lock!

Next time you can come and hit the old picnic grounds.

Re: "MAIL" paddle lock

Been looking around a little and can't find that lock but have found a couple descriptions that might lead me to think it's an old P.O. interior lock, not one that went out with the mail. Either way, it's is one great looking lock!

Did you post it over on the Whatsit forum yet?

Re: "MAIL" paddle lock

Rich, thanks again for having all of us out there. . . it's too bad the weather cut our hunt short.

That token you scored is GREAT!! That was the killer find :)
