I jumped into the river for old bottles

Yep, I sure did - yes that smelly sorry excuse of a river had some oldies for me. We were in the water for about 3.5hrs and found lots of bottles, sadly a ton of them were new ones. I was very happy with the bottles that we found and I can't wait to jump back in!!!

here is a pix of some of my bottles.

A lot of history in those bottles. Not being from Chicago and not familiar with the companies that they came from, do you have any idea what the oldest bottle is?

I also wondered how you find bottles in water that you can't even see past 6". Now I know. Sounds like it was kind a like "catch and release" for some. Hope you didn't get too many bruises.

That's one way to stay cool. Great finds!

    The extendable garden cultivator.

Something like this or even the cheaper model which also works great in woodchip totlots. It's an invaluable tool for river/creek bottoms and freeing bottles from muck.

And hey, throwing some of them back in is like reburying pulltabs! That same area may have more or less keepers next year this time, make it sure it doesn't have the same throwbacks!

    Great bottles TF!

    You're a braver man than I
But those bottles were definitely worth it

Maybe if I saw a shiney or two along the bank, I'd take
the plunge. . . if it wasn't over my knees. . . but then again,
I've had to take a hike through a marsh with water over my
ankles looking for the main trail back to the car
