    Found my Oldest I H 1872

Got out for a bit on Sunday and found my oldest IH , a TOASTED 1872, but I'll take it..
Met up with Treasurefiend for a bit too didn't find anything.

The 1935 Buffalo was found on Sat. from where I had my 4 silver day last week.
I cleaned it " THE WATERCOLOR WAY "
I actually like the way it came out....

Should I do my 1919D this way? It's my most expensive Buff but uncleaned... Should I or shouldn't I ??

Found an old Pocket Watch last week. Just thought you might like to see it....

Toasted IH's are better than no IH's

That nickel. . . put some melted bee's wax on it and buff with a soft cloth. . . it'll look great!

    Re: Found my Oldest I H 1872

    Bob,
Congrats on getting a 1870's, now you can shoot for 1860's. Sorry its toasted, but as mentioned, better toasted then none at all. I'd suggest leaving it in mineral oil for about a month. It wont do anything dramatic, but may loosen some of the corrosion. One of my two recent 1896's looked sort of that way. I soaked it for several weeks and then went at it with a toothpick dipped in hot peroxide. Made it look a little better.
