Gold, silver, and Indians this weekend!

Headed up north and out of state this weekend to do some work on property that had belonged to my fiance's grandmother, who has recently passed away. The house and land are now in the family so fortunately it should still be available to go to in the future. In the downtime, I did a lot of herping (looking for and catching reptiles and amphibians for those of you wondering why I'm gettin' down with STD's), hiking, and photography. Decided to hit an older area for a bit and came out with four indians (1889, 1898, 1904, 1906), an 18K gold (plated) heart locket that still opens and closes perfectly, and a Sterling heart pendant. Also managed to grab some great photos of migrating monarchs. I found a patch of Goldenrod and was soon awash in a sea of monarchs, thousands and thousands of them. Also caught a few reptiles and amphibians photographed too. I'll post those pics soon. Good to see you guys got out this weekend!

    Lovin' that locket Joe!
Shine that one up and give it to Sweetie!

Seems the tribe is gathering again...

    P.S. The butterfly thing
Mayo and I were walking through a few clouds of American Coppers in the fields this weekend as well. Pretty cool how they ascend around you like a small cloud as you pass and hit the blooms again before you get by.

    Cool stuff Joe!
It's interesting how in some ground, the Indian head pennies come out with no green build up and in other ground, they're so caked up with green that they look twice as thick.
    I wonder if it's a Ph thing...

I once visited a friend near the redwoods in California and it was during the Monarch migration. It was really amazing seeing so many at one time! I'd like to see your pics of the ones you saw when you get them ready.
