Celebrated my T-net return with 3 more V's today (oldest 1887) (9/10/10)
Hi all,
I managed to get out for a quickie hunt today that ended up being a little longer than quickie and went to 3 hours. I found 3 V's today (puts me up to 16 V's on the year). I am hoping for 20, so when I get that time machine built, I can go back and trade them in for a silver dollar. The 1887 is my first confirmed 1800's V from my lot, though I do have a no date which I suspect... The other 2 were 1900 and 1905.
Anyway, my first day in a while that has yielded more than 1 or 2 keepers. I have been hitting the same old hunted out spot ("hunted out" long before I got to it) that I have almost exclusively been hitting since May. It turns up the oldies (my clad count this year is really low...). And, when I am about to give up on this site, I turn around and have a day like this which keeps me coming back. My count for this site is 1 shield, 11 V's, 7 IH's, 6 Barber Dimes, 3 BBQ, 1 Seated Dime, and several really cool tokens/fobs/medallions.

I find on days when the silver does not sing, focusing on the nickel tones is a good strategy. Many days where I start to get frustrated I focus on those low tones, then I start finding at least nickels and then sometime the silver sings to me as well.

Same here!!
Nice V's!! I haven't found any V's this year. I haven't been really hitting the older areas I guess. Nice count!

Like the V's, but think you should set your sites on one of those 1913's instead of those common 1885's: why gold for gold if you can get iridium, right?
Like your on-line name, too. Reference to a certain mint south of the US, mayhaps?
