 Let's go diggin!!!
Tavern, Rimfire and silver
Was out hunting most of the day on Monday at a local site that I and some of you hit
this spring. Still finding some trash and some goodies, found alot of copper grommets
also. Monday I pouched a 34 Wheatie, 1890 I.H. (my 5th one from this site) and the
5 cent in trade token. On the back of the token it reads Thompson Tavern -r--ington ILL
Today I spent two hours there again and found a 34 Wheatie right away and a 35p Merc.
This afternoon I meet Marinedad at a park in a small town for an afternoon hunt. A very
trashy park, pulltabs everywhere, I found 8 mems, a 6 sided lipstick tube from Princess
Distributors Chicago, and a Rimfire spent cartridge. Any idea on how old the Rimfire cartridge
might be? DFW Just did some research on the token, Jay Thompson Tavern Arlington Ill

Those finds aren't too shabby. The more trash you pull out, the more goodies will emerge. Don't give up on that spot just yet. Congrats!

Wow, sweet hunt! Looks like one of my typical hunts, except for those old coins you got! Ha!! Keep pounding that site, and rock on w/ your DFX.

Yep, that token is way cool 8)
That rim-fire might be from a .52 Spencer. . . very popular during the later years of the Civil War
