Medals found in my last 2 hunts

Found these during my last 2 hunts.
1 is sterling Silver and so is the chain that was found with it. It was 5 inches deep and the chain come out as you see it, nice and shiny..
Question I have is about the swimming medal
What might the letters be? CIU? UIC ? or something else?

In exchange for agreeing to the Champaign-Urbana location, Chicago-area legislators were promised that a "polytechnical" branch would open in Chicago. The Chicago-based health colleges affiliated with the University in 1896–97, becoming fully incorporated into the University of Illinois in 1913, as the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Medical education and research dramatically expanded in the succeeding decades, leading to the development of several other health science colleges, which were brought together as the Chicago Professional Colleges of the University of Illinois. In 1935, the first act of newly-elected state representative Richard J. Daley was to introduce a resolution calling for the establishment of a Chicago campus of the University of Illinois."

So that 1936 medal could very well be the 1st year for UIC.

Great finds Bob! Swim medal does not have any particular placement on it, so it could be a team ID, participation badge, etc as opposed to an award medal. But yeah, I'm betting the UIC has some school historian that could fill in the blank there.
