Got back into town late yesterday afternoon and decided to go to my favorite park at about 4:30. Decided to hunt a section that I have hit hard for the past 2 years but it still gives up the goodies. They are usually deep and their is deep trash. I went super slow and cherry picked the deep 7 to 10 inch signals. After an hour I had a few wheaties and a 1964D Washington. After another hour a few more wheaties and as it was starting to get dark when I got a deep iffy wheatie signal that turned out to be a 1925D Merc with full split bands. Decided to stay for another half hour and hunt since some of the larger park lights illuminated the section I was in. Got an 8 inch dead-on strong 12/41/12/42 signal. Noticed it was right next to what appeared to be the faint outline of a previous plug from probably a few weeks ago. I thought I had probably dug a wheatie there and missed one that was next to it. Boy was I surprised to see a real dark dime appear. I held it in the dim light and could see a wreath on the back. Flipped it over and could make out the head to tell it was a seated. Didn't know the year until I got home but was surprised to see it was an oldie - 1850. The coin was really dark and black when it came out of the ground. I have not found a seated since back in April so this was a nice surprise. The other coins below are from last weekend and include crusty 1893 and 1902 IHs and a 1914 silver canadian quarter.
