No sidewalks? No problem!
Couple of sweet coins (Photos sharpened)
Got out for a hunt today with the crew consisting of Kimsdad, Lowbatts, Watercolor.
All of us got some remarkable finds!
I was sweeping the coil for an hour or so with just a couple clad dimes, a mem cent and one wheat cent. Then I moved to a different location at the site and worked within a 10 foot perimeter around a couple old looking trees. I get a nice loud signal but not the perfect numbers I would expect to have seen or heard after revealing this Barber Half at the bottom of a 5 inch hole. I'm glad I decided to dig the less than perfect signal!
About a half hour, 45 minutes later I'm near another group of trees and I get another signal that's begging me to dig it up even though it wasn't a repeating signal at every sweep. There must have been iron or other junk within range of the Standing Liberty Quarter. It's got amazing detail on it. It's the type 1 variety, no mint mark.
Also got a couple of wheats in the 1920's and 1930's range. I haven't cleaned them up yet.
I hope you all get out and dig something old in this great digging weather!
When I'm not cutting up turf, I'm cutting styrofoam at http://www.designcutters.com

I've FINALLY had some good couple days in a row out swinging and what do you do? Knock me back down to size with those digs....
That freakin' quarter! After digging the half first, you gotta wonder what could top that. Then comes that SLQ type 1.
WOW!
Super finds today guys, let's get back there and clean it out now before the demo monsters come through.

Re: Couple of sweet coins (Photos sharpened)
Mayo,
Awesome job! Amazingly I have seen my share of BBQ's (4 this year) but no SLQ's, which a lot of people do seem to find. Whenever I see a nice full date SLQ, you have my congrats!
