    minelab trio scores a quinnecta

what a fantastic day for detecting today. great weather.

found my best finds today in years. including my second

    only seated coin.

the minelab trio is etrac , quattro, ft 16000.

i woke up this morning to realise the unthinkable had

happened. yep.forgot 2 charge that battery.

no problem the quattro came w an alkaline pack.

[so did etrac but i managed to misplace it.]

the machine that has a lot of batteries in it

ft16000 transfer them to alk pack if ness.

    and off i go.

    so off i go!

site yielded a barber last time. so im stoked.

get there. etrac ready im not messin around.

had not been out 10 min a yeah sweet silver signal

    a beautiful 1918d merc.not deep 2 in.

followed by almost 2 hours of clad n junk.

thinking of lunch but more interested in coins.

very weak etrac signal turned out yes indeed

A SEATED DIME !! I have only found 1 other EVER

and to top it off ITS A CC. wow havent been there before.

1875 cc seated dime mintmark within wreath variety.

    TIME 4 LUNCH.....

almost too excited to eat til i tasted it.

THEN BOY DID I EAT !

after lunch well right back at it. might be another seated

    around here somewhere.

about 3 hrs later im getting tired. well lets not be greedy here

u found a seated be happy with that.

BUT of couse u always want to find MORE

and find only makes u that determined to find the NEXT ONE

I notice etrac battery is getting quite low.

gauging time left i decided i prob wont want to take time away

from hunting to locate the alk pack in the car. get the batteries

out of the ft 16000 and install sooo......

NOW IS TIME TO PLAY W QUATTRO

i was recongratulating myself on the great price i got her 4.

and bingo deep but clear and i know that sound so well

from etrac. yep 1904 o barber dime.

then it hit me . i had found 3 different types of dimes in

1 day. FIRST SILVER FOR QUATTRO IS A BARBER YEA.

played w her a while longer getting used to th settings

and icons that etrac dont have.

until suddenly interrupted w battery flat signal.

    NO PROBLEM ILL JUST....whoops

where is that dam alk pack i couldnt lose 2 of them !

    its starting to get dark.

    NO TIME TO WASTE TIME......

GRAB that ft 16000 as is im so stoked now its like i was born

to do nothing but detect. tiredness vanishes.

as it dawns upon me. i have a chance for a dime quinnecta.

i have 4 types already seated.barber.merc. and clad.

all i need is a silver roosevelt.

suddenly i LAUGHED OUT LOUD AND SAID TO MYSELF.

last week and most the summer u are dying hoping for

any kind of silver and mostly not finding it.

what are the odds of getting this now.?

but by staying after dark by the propointers last gleaming.

BAM a solid hit on the ft 16000. on autotrack and sound

boosted nearly blew my ears off.

like the card player who needs that 1 card CMON BABY

    1 TIME. YESSSSSSS ! A 52 ROOSIE. i had done it

i think i was more excited to complete the quinnecta

    than finding the seated.

not shown 2 very corroded mean greenies. probly wheats

maybe injuns. need clean 2 tell. and about 3 bux clad.

I FLEW THE CAR HOME AND HAVENT COME DOWN YET.

    Super congrats Scrounger!

A guy hunting the streetwork with me this week did the same. His seated was an 1850 no mint and he was stoked too. Of course it took him two days to close the deal so it's a kinda sorta same thing.

way cool. but not in the same hunt .over a few days.

the only way to take this any further would be a bust coin

or canadian. that would be a sextecta.

sounds like a cross between sex and detector

so i wont go further. or izzit sextugum ? sextugent ?

cant remember what little latin i ever knew.

    Congrats on the CC seated!

Welcome to that club, I got a 77 cc earlier this year. Next time you need to hold out for that capped bust though, cuz then you'll have a sexecta, which by all accounts is better than a septecta.
