    I needed That.....CW Token....

I must start by saying what a nice day here in S.E. IL
I finally beat the dust off the old Etrac and headed to a field..
The site was new, well sorta,I have permission for all the fields in the area where I hunted tonight, but did not make it to this one before the freeze last year, the site was a former town that was moved..
There where some great finds in the area last fall and looks as though this year will be no exception....
I was not quite sure what I had when I plucked this beauty from the ground, was expecting a foreign coin from what I could tell....but after a bit of cleaning and some research,,,,walla my first CW Token...
    It is holed ...

The first pics are the actual coin I dug,the second set of pics will be for example only so you can see the true details of what it should look like cleaned up....enjoy and HH All Soup

    Thanks Fellas...

I am lovin this token, not rare from all accounts, but it is historical and finds in that category always get an A+ from me...

The area where this was found has given up some unusual items, atleast compared to other sites in the local area...

Some of the other finds where..

    A handmade copper ring
    A 1830-40 silver 5 franc
    3 sheild nicks
    several fatty indians
    A gaming token
    1 small eagle button
and numerous pieces of lead shot...

It has been a fantastic area to hunt..

Anyhow thanks for the replies and HH All

    Outstanding find!!!

That would make my week, at least!

Glad you got out. Our snow finally disappeared overnight. Time to test the ground in the woods. Now where did I put that detector?
God bless our veterans! Thank you for your sacrifices!

I heard her described as simply an 'Indian Princess', similar to the image on a US $3.00 coin.

    Re: I needed That.....CW Token....

Don is right,it is a copy, atleast of the head design of a $1 or $3 dollar gold piece,I found a similiar token or more correctly a gaming piece a few months back,it had the same Indian Princess Head design ,it was common to copy the gold pieces as I have read...
