Afoot in the Fields....
Got in a couple more hunts the past two days,Saturday was a bust in the finds column, but the weather was good and the peace and quiet of the hunting grounds is always nice, aside from a few passing cars rubbernecking and a flock or two of winged honkers heading for the hinterlands up north it was just me and that sweet sound of targets in my ear
Today I faired a bit better, however I had to wait till the last thirty minutes of the hunt to reap my rewards...
I unearthed two coins today,no capped bust silver, but fine coins in there own right,I also found a few rivets, scraps of copper, pieces of lead and rimfire cartridges..as well as a few unknown odds and ends.
Find below the pics of the coins, enjoy and HH

Re: Afoot in the Fields....
Thanks Makton,I am sure yours is just around the corner Bud...
Thanks Pocket Spill
Thanks J-man
Mr Senior, thanks for the reply, shields are an uncommon find no doubt, this site which is about 20 to 40 acres of prime roadfront hunting area and about 320 acres total, has given up 4 shields since last fall,2 in one day,all the coins found have dated in the 1850 and 1860's save 2 and they were 1830-1840's
I have never locked down the exact dates of when the town started and when it was moved, but by the coins it is easy to guess with some certainty....
Thanks again all for the replies
