    Today Hunt 3/3/11. Seeing Double

Got out with T.F. and L.4.S. for a LONG hunt today. Went back to a spot I've frequented lately for good reason. 15 minutes into the hunt I was on the silver board with the 1913 Barber Dime. A few hours later with a few IHs and wheaties in between, I got my second Barber Dime of the day, an 1897. Towards the end of the hunt after Jon had dug his Seated quarter, I came upon a solid 12/47 quarter signal at 6". I yelled over to T.F. to see if he wanted to shoot the dig on camera for the video and he came over. Jon rolled in wondering what the commotion was about and started talking smack saying it was going to be trash, but after hearing the tones this bad boy was giving and the way it pinpointed, he started to think otherwise. Feast your eyes on the second Seated quarter of the day! An 1876CC.

Just before digging, I was wondering what it could be and was hoping for a Barber. After Jon dug his seated quarter about a half hour earlier, it didn't even cross my mind that it could be a seated. You just don't see these come out of the ground around here. And two in one hunt? Unreal.

Anyway, T.F. called me and said it will take a while for the video to finish uploading and should be on Youtube by tomorrow A.M. so you can see the dig in action.

    HH,

    D-Dub

Finds not pictured: 5 wheaties, 3 1880's IHs, a no date buffalo, and a sterling silver pennant.

Got to ask Dan, is it me or are you looking a little like General Zod? Maybe it's the point!

Yes you and Mr. Senior pointed us in the right direction. After sitting on the hint for most of 2010 we finally decided to check it out and it took us over 20 hours of hunting to find the sweet spot and it was worth it. Thank you both.
