    Interesting Sterling (seal?) ring

Hey everyone! When I went out a few days ago w/ D-Dub and TreasureFiend, I also found this neat ring which I forgot to get on tape. It was also just under the surface where I found that SLQ on the surface. It is marked "STERLING" with an "IR" in a diamond. Looks to be either Onyx or Opal, and the bust is of

Looks like it is one of those rings to stamp seals with, but I don't know. Probably just made to imitate one of those... Regardless, I am very happy with this ring and would like to share it with you guys, since I forgot to get it on tape. Enjoy and HH!

This is the one I found 2 years ago that I was telling you about. Looks similar but a tad bit different, but mine is also a recessed ring (the face is carved in) like a seal/stamp ring but I know its not too old because its mounted on a HGE ring.

Looks more like some hybrid Greco-Roman relief than Spaniard guys. Gonna have to look for the IR cartouche somewhere out there on the new Jon. Kermit's ring looks very similar though maybe 80 years younger or so and seems a bit more Minoan-themed, as I remember from back in those days...

    That's a cool ring Jon!
I agree with LB's with it being a more modern version of a Roman Intaglio ring.

Ha I had a 1976 Cordoba once... it was big and beautiful. Had to have someone lift up the right quarter panel to get the beast to do a burn out though!

Lets see if I can find the picture of it...

Very sweet ring! The post office would probably return your mail if you put some wax seal on the back these days, or I'd be using that baby ;-)
