i have not looked at mine (and im at work now) but what are they 12v 1amp? I could grab a power supply from here at work and re-end it with proper plug from radio shack and correct polarity haha..
My charger or battery is nonoperational now too.
Either the battery wont take the charge, or, the adaptor is bad.
The charger is warm but the battery won't charge. Any ideas? I think I can get this warrantied its new. ja
Sounds like there's component trouble right there in River City.
Did any of you guys check the problem out to find the cause? Bad terminal? John, you have a DMM I'm guessing. Did you check the connector on the charger?

Tim,
I'm pretty sure there is a diode in series with the charging jack on the pack. Obviously there is a straight connection to the batteries from the terminals on the end that touch the spring connections in the detector. That diode could be fried in an "open" condition, but you could rig up some spring contacts to bump up against the battery and charge it that way.
Jon,
If you send your pack back... cool, hope they warranty it. But if not and you are going to get rid of it, let me know I'd like to crack it open to see what's really inside. I've always wanted to build a little fast charging base station that you can just drop the pack into, but without knowing exactly what's inside the pack that's kind of hard to do with confidence.
Interesting. He does sometimes keep them in my car. Hmmmm.
Being a techie, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about ;-)
Tormentors. 555 timer circuit we'd put up on the tiles overhead in the office and every once in a while that screaming high pitched tone would ring out and bounce off all the walls and no one could tell where it came from.
Rag wall days, what a riot. Pop the cap off the rag wall, throw a simple bug down the wall and have it on a timer so it would be intermittent, the RX side was at someone else's wall, and every now and then they'd hear everything someone else was saying or a few moments, just coming out of the walls....
Then sit back and say to yourself, "Let's get ready to watch the rumble!"
