loving my etrac. small pile of wheats some silver and a broach

Finally found my first merc today.. not one but three!! a mound of wheats and a broach..

I let the home owner keep the mercs in better shape as well as the broach.. its my future wifes family. the yard has been in the family from early 1900's.. had a great time will be back to hunt there again as we actually ran out of sunlight..

Great stuff Neil! Now that you got the first silvers out of the way they will start pouring in!

I still need to find my first with my etrac also... how did they sound for you? were they a 12-46? How deep? Could you tell the difference between those and a clad dime?

    Thanks!

I think I got lucky.. the yard I was hunting I found nothing but oldies. Found one clad quarter the rest were all '58 and before.. They sing in there pretty well.. They were all '46ish' one hit 46 one way but 44 coming from the other. I ended up digging and once I got the plug up it was singing a solid 46 till I found her.. Got plenty of the relatives and a buddy of mine all pumped haha I told them give it a week and you will all have a detector tearing up your yards. Its really a good time detecting around others who have not seen it done much before. The look on their face when you tell them eh there is a penny here. dig it up and sure enough there is the penny.. Its just too bad that the property owner is a coin collector himself so he snags them all up as i dig them out haha.. oh well I just enjoy the hunt and finding the stuff!

Nice. Yes too bad the guy collects the coins! But anytime you can dig something like that is pretty fun. Good luck on the return trip!
