Barber, Merc and a couple of military buttons

It went out for a short hunt today to the same place I went to last week and hit a 1944 s merc right off the bat then got a deep bouncy signal a few minutes later that got me curious so I dug down to about 9 inches a pulled out this military button which still has all the gold gilt and even a piece of thread still in it (cool ). I'm going to post it in the "what is it" section to get more info since I've never seen one like it before. I also found a military underwear button (probably late 1800's early 1900's. Dime is just for size comparison) that says US Army on from my last weeks hunt. One the way back to the car I saw a big patch of bushes that got me curious so I went over and discovered a huge tree stump inside the bush so I detected around it and pulled this 1899 Barber (no mint mark) at about 5 inches. Found the usual junk, tree tags, pull tabs, foil, etc.

This makes 2 decent weeks in a row, I don't think I can handle that much success . Thanks for reading.
